We have joined efforts with the global UN refugee agency, UNHCR, since 2010. UNHCR helps promote our family tracing tool within their on ground operations, now comprising Nairobi (Kenya), Kampala (Uganda) and Nakivale refugee settlement (Uganda). On the ground outreach is done in collaboration with RCK in Kenya and Interaid in Uganda.
Kenya Red Cross Society
Since 2011, Kenya Red Cross Society (KRCS) has been utilizing the Refugees United family tracing tool to complement their traditional family tracing services. KRCS is promoting our tool in 22 branches across 8 regions in Kenya. As a leading humanitarian organization in Kenya, KRCS aims to provide relief to those in need. With our tool, they bring in web and mobile technology to help refugees search for and reconnect with missing family and friends.
Intersos, an Italian-based aid organization, promotes the usage of our tool in order to improve family tracing systems inside Somalia. Intersos brings humanitarian assistance to populations in need and promotes the return to normal living conditions. Intersos has been using the Refugees United family tracing tool in Somalia since 2011 to help reconnect Somali IDPs with missing family members.
Tadamon teamed up with us in 2010 in order to promote greater refugee outreach among the refugee population in Egypt. Based in Cairo, Egypt, Tadamon recruits community monitors to assist refugees in using our tool while also reaching out to other local NGOs. Refugees United and Tadamon share the common goal of promoting the welfare of refugees.
